(The Production Company), The Ziegfeld Tenor in Funny Girl (Sydney Symphony Orchestra), Nick in the Australian premiere of The Handmaid’s Tale (Gertrude Opera) and Lt. Cable in South Pacific (Utah Shakespeare Festival).

Having made both her professional and principal debut in 2019 as Maria in Opera Australia, GWB Entertainment and BB Group’s touring production of West Side Story, Sophie received praise from critics for her ability to “easily navigate the demands of the score” while ensuring “Maria’s journey from…dreamy lover to broken young woman is authentic as it is impactful” (Stage Whispers, Alex Armstrong 2019).

Since then, she played the role of Rosina in Opera Australia’s 2020 NSW School’s Tour of The Barber of Seville and was also selected as the recipient of the 2020 Australian Opera Awards Committee Dame Joan Sutherland Award. More recently Sophie became a Principal Young Artist with Opera Australia and to much excitement and anticipation, covered the role of Hanna Glavari in Opera Australia’s most recent production of The Merry Widow, in what marked their return to the Sydney Opera House since the COVID-19 shutdown.

Over the last eight years, Sophie has performed numerous leading roles within Queensland community theatre companies, most notably, Christine in The Phantom of the Opera, Cosette in Les Misérables and Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance. Other highlights include, performing with the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Dr Nicholas Milton AM for their 2020 A Star-Spangled Gala, Opera Queensland’s Project Puccini La Boheme and graduating from the 2018 Pacific Opera Young Artist Program, in which she made her Sydney Opera House debut.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Musical Theatre from the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University in 2016, Angelina made her professional debut as a swing in the Australian premiere production of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical (Michael Cassel). Earlier this year Angelina was seen in the iconic rock musical, Rent, at the Sydney Opera House. She was also part of Opera Australia’s 2019 production of West Side Story on Sydney Harbour (HOSH) playing Consuelo. Angelina played the role of Megan Jones in the play PUFFS, and she was seen in The Production Company’s Thoroughly Modern Millie and Ragtime, staged at Melbourne’s Arts Centre. Angelina’s television credits include the recently broadcast ABC TV drama, Wakefield. Her one-woman cabaret, Hinano, was staged at Darlinghurst Theatre Company as part of their Bloom Festival in 2020.

At just 12-years-old, Noah performed alongside Todd McKenney in Songs and Stories of Peter Allen at the State Theatre in the role of Young Peter. Noah has had a passion for Musical Theatre since a very young age and has performed in more than 15 musical productions.

Theatre credits include the role of Munkustrap in CATS with Packemin Productions, Gavroche in Les Misérables with A.C.T San Diego and Evan Goldman in 13 the Musical with Birdie Productions. Other credits include lead Singer at Luna Park and NXTGEN member in Machismo an all male dance show. Noah has toured all around the world and performed in Paris, San Diego, LA, and New York City.

In 2019 Noah made his professional debut in a world tour of West Side Story in the lead role of Riff. The show played at the Sydney Opera House as well as touring Australia, New Zealand and Germany.

In 2020 Noah performed his first Cabaret show, a collection of songs and stories of his life as an expat kid living in Paris and San Diego and his love of theatre, the show debuted at Claire’s Kitchen on Oxford street, Darlinghurst. He also achieved the role of Cy/ Jamie Understudy in the West End Award Winning, AUS/NZ Tour of “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie!” 2020/2021. Which was sadly cancelled due to lockdown.

Noah is excited to be reprising his roll in West Side Story for Perth and Brisbane.

Temujin is a graduate from Village Nation with a Certificate IV in Dance and a Diploma in Musical Theatre, he also has a Certificate III in Theatre and Television from studying at ACTT. Temujin has been training vocally since 2010.

His recent performing credits are the international tour of the Opera Australia and GWB’s musical ‘West Side Story’ playing the role of ‘Pepe’ and understudy ‘Bernardo’  Working as a Singer/Dancer for ‘Celebrity Cruises’ and ‘Universal Studios’ in Singapore. Temujin has played Kenickie in Squabbalogic’s ‘The Original Grease” and Cameron in the NSW and QLD tour of Supply Evolution’s ‘Bring It On - The Musical’.

Temujin is honoured to be returning to the stage as the role of Bernardo.

Nicholas hails from Orange in NSW where he began his performance training at age 8 including a scholarship at the Conservatory of Music, Orange. He went on to graduate from Sydney’s iconic Brent Street with a Certificate IV in Performing Arts where he trained under industry greats including Cameron Mitchell and Matt Lee.

Nicholas’ passion is the stage and his amateur theatre credits include The Wizard of Oz, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Grease, Hairspray and Mary Poppins. Nicholas is also a gifted actor for screen and has appeared in numerous national TV advertising campaigns for brands such as Arnotts, Hitachi and Toyota.

Nicholas made his professional musical theatre in 2018 as ‘Arab’ in West Side Story and cannot wait to step back into this role for this production.

He moved from Brisbane to Sydney to undertake an Advanced Diploma in Performing Arts at ED5 international under the guidance of industry icon William A. Forsythe. Within the course, Sebastien was fortunate enough to perform alongside Marcia Hines and Minnie Cooper. He made his professional debut as Diesel in West Side Story in 2019, a role that he is thrilled to be reprising. Sebastien is proudly represented by T&E Management.

Christian was born and raised in Melbourne. He began his dance training at the age of 4 under the direction of Natalie Pryor who instilled his hard-working attitude and versatility across all styles. From there he then went on to attend one of Australia’s finest and most successful dance studios, Patrick School of the Arts where he is studying in a Diploma in Performing Arts, working closely with director Todd Patrick.

Throughout his training, in 2011, Christian worked alongside Andrew Lloyd Webber in Love Never Dies for the Melbourne season.

In addition to this Christian has seen himself working with singer songwriter Robbie Williams in the 2014 “The Swing” in Melbourne.

Originally from country NSW/Wiradjuri Country, Nathan is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School. His training and expertise span many disciplines including ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip-hop, pas de deux, acrobatics, ballroom, acting, singing, choreography, directing and mixed media art. While at VCASS, Nathan performed various lead roles including Ren in Footloose (dir. Tanya Mitford), Romeo in Timothy Harbour’s version of Romeo + Juliet, and Waltz Man in Balanchine’s Serenade (restaged by Eve Lawson of the George Balanchine Trust).

Nathan is honoured to be reprising the role that kickstarted his career with West Side Story. He wishes to thank his parents, mentor Tanya Mitford, and the team at Ian White Management for their guidance and support.

Jake O’Brien moved from Townsville to Melbourne where he studied Full-time dancing and musical theatre for 3 years. After graduating in 2015 Jake joined StageArt’s season of In The Heights. Following this he became a member of Lion Hearts Dance company and performed in two shows; Table of 8 and Fabricated. Jake then travelled around the Mediterranean seas as a singer/dancer with Celebrity Cruises. In 2018 he joined the cast of Disney’s Aladdin tour of Australia, NZ and Singapore as one of the colourful ensemble members and covered Iago. In 2019 he joined Opera Australia’s classic: West Side Story as Big Deal the Jet and again in 2021. Jake has also appeared on Miss Fisher’s Modern Murder Mysteries as the guest role of Milo Nabone. Other credits include: That's Amore (Melbourne fringe festival), modelling for the National Australian Bank, playing the role of Mike Costa in A Chorus Line with Mad About Theatre and joining DHB theatricals, Suddenly.

Molly Bugeja began her training at age three for stage and screen under the tuition of BJ and Aeysha Rorke (A-Live Performing Arts Centre) and Teri Hughes-Everard (Penrith Conservatorium of Music). Molly’s theatre credits include Music In Motion (A-Live Entertainment) and Loud Theatre Company’s production of Footloose. Her television experience includes a number of national campaigns for the brands such as Telstra, Bonds and Vinnies. Molly is also an accomplished circus artist, specialising in aerial such as SilksSpanish Web and Lyra.

Most recently Molly was part of the cast of A Chorus Line at the Darlinghurst Theatre, although she made her professional musical theatre debut as ‘Anybodys’ in West Side Story (OA/GWB) in 2018 - winning a GLUG award for Most Outstanding Female Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical.

She is beyond excited to be back on stage in this role once again!

Taylah began dancing at 2 years of age and as a 12 year old she was an AUSTRALIAN BALLET SCHOOL I.T.P Level 3, enrolling in the ballet course at John Curtin Collage of the Arts. Here she was quickly moved from the ballet class with peers her age, to the Year 12 class for new challenges to her growing potential. In 2013 she was asked to begin her full-time training at Katharine Mantle Performing Arts Academy and completed her schooling online via S.I.D.E (School of Isolated and Distance Education).

In 2014, she was accepted into the JOFFREY BALLET SCHOOL in New York. At 16 years old, she had completed and achieved her R.A.D Solo Seal exam and took class with the WEST AUSTRALIAN BALLET COMPANY. After graduating early she was offered a position at W.A.A.P.A (West Australian Academy of Performing Arts) for 2017 in their diploma course, but accepted a scholarship to dance at The West Australian School of Dance by Mr Coppen.

In 2018, she won the Pre- Professional Award at the R.A.D Festival of Dance at the start of June and shortly after commenced a secondment with the AUSTRALIAN BALLET COMPANY. In 2019 Taylah made her professional musical theatre debut in Opera Australia and GWB Entertainment’s WEST SIDE STORY which toured Australia, New Zealand and Germany.

Following an intensive term at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, Tomáš completed his BFA in Music Theatre at the VCA in 2019. There, he performed as a soloist in the Woodstock: 50th Anniversary Cabaret (Melbourne Cabaret Festival) and for Morning Melodies (Arts Centre) in both 2018 and 2019. He graduated starring as Gabey in On The Town (VCA) and was the proud recipient of ‘The Ron and Margaret Dobell Foundation Music Theatre – Industry Award’. Earlier this year, Tomáš made his professional debut as an ensemble member and swing in the touring company of ‘Fangirls’ (Belvoir). He is delighted to join the cast of West Side Story.

Rania is one of Australia’s most exciting up and coming performers. Upon obtaining his Certificate IV in Performing Arts at Ettingshausens in Sydney, he quickly began working with some of the best names in the business. His credits so far include TV performances for The Voice Australia and The Real Full Monty, TV advertising campaigns for Dance Boss and Nissin Noodles and working with Artists such as Sam Smith and Keiynan Lonsdale. Rania is also an in-demand model and has shot for campaigns for brands like The Iconic and Tommy’s Jeans.

This production of West Side Story marks Rania’s professional musical theatre debut and he would like to thank his family, friends, partner and agents at Jeep Management for their constant support.

In 2014 Noah was accepted into the National Theatre Ballet School in Melbourne. Upon completion of his full-time training there Noah was offered a scholarship to the Alberta Ballet School in Canada but turned it down after being accepted into the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Music Theatre) at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA). Whilst at VCA, Noah’s performed in such shows as ‘On the Town’ (dir. Adam Mitchell), ‘Morning Melodies 2019’ at Hamer Hall (dir. Jayde Kirchert), ‘Our House’ (dir. Tyran Parke, choreographed by Michael Ralph), and ‘The Mystery of Edwin Drood' (dir. Jason Langley). Noah is also a regular co-host of the radio station Joy94.9’s ‘The Cabaret Room’. Noah is thrilled to be making his professional debut in West Side Story.

Matthew graduated from Brent Street in 2013, and soon after made his stage debut in the original cast of Baz Luhrmann’s Strictly Ballroom the Musical (Global Creatures). His other credits include Singin’ in the Rain’(Dainty Group), Hello, Dolly! (TPC), the Asia Pacific tour of Disney’s Aladdin (Disney Theatrical Australia) where he was the Assistant Dance Captain/ Swing, following a successful run in the ensemble during the Australian tour. West Side Story (OA/ GWB) where he understudied the rolls of Bernardo and Chino. Most recently Matthew was a Player in the Sydney season of Pippin (GFO), which ignited the return of large scale musical theatre in Australia after the mass closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Matthew has also appeared as a dancer for X Factor directed by the Squared Division, and the art installation 13 Rooms for Sydney Dance Company.

In 2012 he toured three continents in Dreamworks & Global Creatures' 'How To Train Your Dragon: Live Spectacular' as an original cast member and has performed for identities such as Stephen Spielberg, Jonsi, James Marsden, America Ferrera, and Heidi Klum. Following multiple appearances in ‘Australia’s Got Talent’ with Phly Crew, Brady has become an award-winning choreographer, launching The Blackguard in 2016; a contemporary/KRUMP dance company, producing original works such as ‘Passion May Yet Be Fatal’ (2016) and ‘Still Breathing’ (2018). As Brady’s development of works has continued, he has become a sought-after practitioner of elite level acrobatics and contemporary dance, specializing in contact improvisation and movement coaching with his company’s training program ‘The Darkroom’. He has worked with Opera Australia on shows such as ‘King Roger’ and makes his return to ‘West Side Story’.

Elysha has been a cast member for various Opera Australia productions including the critically acclaimed Carmen in which she took on the roles of Dance Captain and assistant to the choreographer, Kelley Abbey. In 2018, Elysha travelled to Tokyo with Opera Australia to perform in a gala concert for Dr Handa.

Elysha is thrilled to be joining the cast of West Side Story and would like to thank her husband, Thomas, and her family for their support.

Nikki spent many years residing in New York City but can honestly say she is so grateful to be back in Australia performing and back again on tour with West Side Story after being a part of the 2019 tour as Dance Captain. She started dancing at Jane Moore Academy of Dance to then go on to train at the Australian Ballet School and graduated from VCASS in Melbourne, Australia. Her professional performing and musical theatre credits include Swing, Dirty Dancing (BB Promotions/ Mehr Entertainment), West Side Story Centennial World Tour (Margarita, Jet Swing, Graziella and Anita U/S ) , Principle dancer on amazon prime’s ‘Marvelous Mrs Maisel’, Disney Cruise Line, Spirit Productions (Canada, USA), Royal Caribbean (aerialist) , Mamma Mia (ensemble), Kiss Me Kate ( Dance captain, ensemble -STONC Connecticut, USA) . West Side Story (Pauline, Francisca/ Shark Swing- STONC Connecticut, USA). Nikki participated in Broadway Dance Lab’s Spring 2018 cycle as a swing, has danced for ALMA Dance Company, Broadway Cares Equity fights aids (BCEFA) for many events, benefits, music videos and concerts in New York City.

Amba Fewster hails from Perth and has graduated from Patrick School of the Arts in Melbourne. During her studies, Amba preformed in the Perth and Melbourne seasons of Michael Boyd’s Cabaret De Paris and as well as The Ultimate Vegas Show and has since performed both shows in Perth in 2020. She has also had the opportunity to work with Square Division, performing at the ICC Woman’s Word Cup along side Katy Perry. She is also a qualified Pilates instructor and has been working with the Ternary students at Patrick School of the Arts. Amba is excited to return to the stage in this classic production of West Side Story.

Adelaide born; Amelia trained extensively in all genres of theatre since the age of 5. At 17, she made the move to New York City after receiving a 12 month scholarship to train full-time at the Broadway Dance Centre. Amelia has been performing professionally at numerous corporate events and recently, starred in the Adelaide Fringe season of Disco Wonderland (Release Creative) as a featured soloist. Jade started ballet at the age of three and at just age fourteen, relocated to Melbourne to train at The Australian Ballet School. She continued her dance training at Queensland University of Technology graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance Performance). Jade’s passion for her craft has seen her embrace all aspects of the theatre and performance world and led to her musical theatre debut in ‘The King and I’ (Opera Australia and GFO) Australian tour in 2014. She went on to play the iconic role of ‘Victoria the White Cat’ in the Australian/New Zealand tour of ‘Cats The Musical’ (Lunchbox Theatrical Productions & The Really Useful Group) in 2015/16. She also performed in ‘The Love for Three Oranges’ (Opera Australia) in 2016. Jade was a part of Evita (Opera Australia and GFO) in 2018/19 as swing, ‘West Side Story’ (Opera Australia and GWB) in 2019 as swing and now in 2021, Jade is excited to be a part of ‘West Side Story’ (Opera Australia and GWB) as swing and Assistant Dance Captain.

Brilliant young tenor Nicholas Jones recently won the Green Room Award for his portrayal of David in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg for Opera Australia.  He was nominated for a Helpmann Award for this same role.

A graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts and Herald-Sun Aria finalist, Nicholas’ other roles for the national company have included: Remendado in Carmen, Marasquin in Two Weddings, One Bride, Albazar in Il Turco in Italia and several roles in Shostokovich’s The Nose. He also sang Tamino and Almaviva in Opera Australia’s touring productions of The Magic Flute and Il barbiere di Siviglia.

In 2016, Nicholas created the role of Fish Lamb in the world premiere of Tim Winton’s Cloudstreet - composed by George Palmer and presented by State Opera of South Australia.

He sang Male Chorus in Victorian Opera’s The Rape of Lucretia, Britten’s Canticles and Stefan Cassomenos’ Art of Thought for Melbourne Recital Centre, Soldier in The Emperor of Atlantis and Barnardo in Erwin und Elmire for IOpera, Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn & Strings at ANAM and Hadyn’s The Creation for Sydney Philharmonia; Nick was also an original cast member of Deborah Cheetham’s indigenous opera Pecan Summer.

2019 engagements included Tom in Christina’s World for State Opera of South Australia and Michael Driscoll in the world premiere of Whiteley for Opera Australia. In 2021, he makes major appearances for Opera Australia and Pinchgut Opera.

Nicholas is the current recipient of the Dame Heather Begg Memorial Award.

Daniel began training under the guidance of Leanne Donaldson in his youth and then went on to graduate with a Certificate IV in Performing Artists from TNSPA in Sydney.

Upon graduating in 2018 he secured a role in international Cast of West Side Story touring Germany and Australia. Next, he was part of the cast of Opera Australia’s La Traviata on the iconic stage on Sydney Harbour.

Daniel also made his choreographic debut in 2018 with music video “Child” for Kota Banks and has since been engaged by clients such as 2DayFM, RnbFridays Live, NLV Records and Sony Music.
